Hybrid Therapy
Hybrid Therapy - Hybrid Therapist's combine the following styles of bodywork together to create a integrative approach to your specific treatment. Each session will combine different aspects of each of these techniques to properly assess and correct your posture and pain generating imbalances.
Orthopedic Massage
Othopedic Massage differs from regular Massage and Bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a medical doctor. Your therapist may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment, but will focus the treatment only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis. This enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and reduces the needed recovery time from injury.
Myoskeletal Alignment
Myoskeletal Alignment - The work of Advanced Rolfer and innovater Erik Dalton Ph.D. Combining deep tissue, facilitated stretching, Rolfing, osteopathic manipulation and structural integrative techniques the therapist works to create balance in muscle tissue, release adhered and fibrotic joint capsules, and restore joint play to eliminate the source of the pain.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body’s natural immune function.
Neurosomatic Therapy
Neuromusuclar Therapy (NMT) - Neurosomatic Therapy is the progressed and advanced offshoot of Neuromuscular Therapy. A therapist trained in nerusomatic theraoy is educated in the physiology of the nervous system and its effects on the muscular, skeletal, and visceral systems. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body to balance the structural alignment of the body and the central nervous system.
Visceral Massage
Visceral Massage - Like all other soft tissues in the body - organ health depends on mobility. Either from trauma, disease, or postural issues organs can go into spasm and adhere to surrounding tissue. Many times this can be the source of pain. Gentle hands on techniques are applied to the organs to encourage relaxation and propper movement.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing “trigger points” in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension that occur in the belly of the muscle tissue as well as the muscle-tendon junction. Tigger points refer pain to other areas of the body often causing a misdiagnosis. They also restrict the muscles range of motion due to pain. Static pressure as well as pressure through movement is applied to release the trigger point reducing pain allowing the muscle to return to its propper resting length.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Intra-Oral Massage
Intra-Oral Massage - Jaw pain is among the most common discomforts experienced in our society. Poor posture and repetitive use places to much strain on these tissues causing a wide range of issues. Anything from jaw tightness, tooth aches, headaches, problems swallowing or chewing or dizziness and loss of balance can be attributed to jaw dysfunction. Adding to this, the jaw is the most used joint in the body which means it is impossible to rest it to let heal.
Therapists work to balance the muscles of the jaw both outside and inside the mouth as well as propperly balance the head on top of the neck. Propper gloves are used when palpating on the inside of the mouth to balance the powerful inner muscles as well as stretch and lengthen the tight connective tissue created from daily strain.
Relief is felt immediately afterward. Although due to the constant use of this area of the body, permanent recovery often takes several sessions.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes. Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.
